Our Story

“We met in 1998 and immediately hit it off soon realizing that we shared the same beliefs and passions about fresh food. This shared passion has fuelled our dream of creating our own fresh food range, which we continued to plan whilst working on other projects. Lesley with television work and her Cookery School in Dorset, whilst Gill has been hands on building a unique New England shingle style wooden eco house, with her husband, on the coast in South Devon! Both of us always thinking of The Green Table!

As busy working women we know that modern life is hectic. Weekends and holidays are precious and often there is not the time we would like to cook for our family and friends.

A few years ago, quite independently of one another and having worked together for some years, we both made the decision to move to the West Country. Once here we were overwhelmed by the number of incredible producers there are in the region and the quality of local ingredients. We were inspired again! Our determination to launch our own range of fresh food was renewed and we have been planning the launch of The Green Table ever since! We wanted to deliver the modern food we love- direct to your home - after all, “Eating In is the New Eating Out”.

We believe that fast food can be fresh, and convenience food does not have to come out of a tin.

Throughout her time on television Lesley has had one steadfast belief that good food is not about overcomplicated dishes but a simple marriage of great ingredients prepared with passion.
